Rita Abrams won her twenty-sixth ASCAP Popular Music Award in January, 2007. She has won two Emmy Awards, as well as awards from Associated Press (Best Video), New York TV and Film Festival, Parents' Choice, and CINE. During 2005-6, her comedy albums with Dr. Elmo, ("Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer") sold over 500,000 copies for the Sony/BMG label. Their latest album appeared for 9 weeks on the Billboard comedy charts.

Rita’s stage musicals have earned her many rave reviews, and three San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards. These include NEW WRINKLES, currently running in Canada, soon to open in San Diego, with past productions Pennsylvania, and Oregon, and her musical revue FOR WHOM THE BRIDGE TOLLS, which ran for over ten years in various San Francisco Bay Area cities.

Her musical version of John Gray’s MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS ran for a year at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Her seventies record, "Mill Valley," was an international hit, reaching #5 on the national Billboard charts. For her work in records, video and film, she has won awards from Associated Press (Best Video), New York TV and Film Festival, Parents' Choice, and CINE.
